Job Description:
1. Provide overall technical,schedule and financial direction of the particular Passive Restraint System.
2. Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of program plan allinternal and customer required program reports and documentationfor the particular product area.
3. Ensure a cost account system is being used in the particular product area.
4. Maintain program management contact with customers.
5. Ensure the design hardware for automotive airbag inflation systemin their area meet ARC and customer objectives.
6. Review test requirements ,evaluation of test results ,and testpreparation to ensure they meet ARC standards.
7. Develop hardware and inflators through the prototype, design validation, and DFMEA testing levels,Support design evaluation and DFMEA efforts in conjunction with the testing.
8. Verify quality requirements and inspection procedures are in place on products.
9. Approve design changes during all phases of a program.
10.Coordinate and conduct reviews of the product area and program activities with customer and progressive levels and ARC management.
11.Supervise the career development,training,safety,and discipline of assigned department personnel.
12.Supports Director of Engineering in generating long term planning.
13.Responsible for determining new and innovative manufacturingequipment, techniques,processes and product manufacturability.
14.Determines need for and proposes for approval, by the General Manager, equipment design, floor layouts and manufacturing step sequence.
15.Is responsible for tooling, fixtures, machining functions and welding processes.
16.Directs programming of automated equipment and coordinates equipment maintenance and repair in support of manufacturing operations.
17.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
1. B.S. in Engineering, Mechenical Physical Science, Business Administration, or related discipline.
2. M.S. Degree in Engineering or MBA desired. Minimum of 8 years technical or business experience or equivalent combination to include at least four years in line management or in a program management systems.
3. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, automotive design and development activities, and performance management systems.
4. Ability to deal effectively with both intra and inter-company personnel Training in QS-9000 is required. Demonstrated ability to plan, direct and supervise several projects.
5. Fluent in English and strong communication skills.
